⁷ But He said to them, “It is not for you to know periods of time or appointed times which ^(A)the Father has set by His own authority;

¹¹ and they said, “^(A)Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who ^(B)has been taken up from you into heaven, will ^(C)come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

³⁶ “But ^(A)about that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

¹⁷ Then ^(A)we who are alive, who remain, will be ^(B)caught up together with them ^(C)in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always ^(D)be with the Lord.

¹³ looking for the blessed hope and the ^(A)appearing of the glory of ^[a](B)our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

^6 [a]For after all ^(A)it is only right ^[b]for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, ⁷ and to give relief to you who are afflicted, along with us, ^[c](B)when the Lord Jesus will be revealed ^(C)from heaven ^(D)with ^[d]His mighty angels ^8 (E)in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who ^(F)do not know God, and to those who ^(G)do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. ⁹ These people will pay the penalty of ^(H)eternal destruction, ^(I)away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

The Coming of Christ

¹¹ And I saw ^(A)heaven opened, and behold, a ^(B)white horse, and He who sat on it is called ^(C)Faithful and True, and in ^(D)righteousness He judges and wages war. ¹² His ^(E)eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many ^(F)crowns; and He has a ^(G)name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. ¹³ He is clothed with a ^(H)robe dipped in blood, and His name is called ^(I)The Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in ^(J)fine linen, ^(K)white and clean, were following Him on white horses. ^15 (L)From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that ^(M)with it He may strike down the nations, and He will ^[a](N)rule them with a rod of iron; and ^(O)He treads the ^[b]wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. ¹⁶ And on His robe and on His thigh He has ^(P)a name written: “^(Q)KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

²³ But each in his own order: Christ ^(A)the first fruits, after that ^(B)those who are Christ’s at ^(C)His coming, ²⁴ then comes the end, when He hands over ^(D)the kingdom to our ^(E)God and Father, when He has abolished ^(F)all rule and all authority and power. ²⁵ For He must reign ^(G)until He has put all His enemies under His feet.
